Irena Rain was born in Russia and graduated from the Pedagogical Institute of Graphic Arts.  Her work advocates artistic freedom and is influenced by a variety of styles and inspirations. 

 

Recently, she developed a new technique which is characterized by the removal of oil paint which degrades the coloring from dark to light without using any white.   This is in opposition of classic methodology which emphasizes only the addition of oil paint in order to create the same effect.  Irena also teaches children and adults in a private studio, both classic and her unique style.
